How this calculator works
For eligible current US listings, the Depop selling fee is 0%. Depop Payments is 3.3% of item price, buyer shipping, and applicable tax, plus $0.45. An attributed Boosted Listing sale can add 12% of item price and, for seller-arranged shipping, buyer shipping.
- Seller revenue = discounted item price + buyer-paid shipping; buyer tax is excluded from revenue.
- Current US Depop selling fee = 0% for a listing created on or after July 15, 2024.
- Depop Payments fee = 3.3% × (discounted item price + buyer-paid shipping + buyer sales tax) + $0.45.
- If the sale is attributed to a boosted listing, add 12% × item price. Include buyer shipping in that boost basis only when the seller arranges shipping.
- The buyer marketplace fee is a buyer charge and is not added to seller revenue, fees, or profit.
Worked example
Example: a current $60 US listing
Assume a $60 item, $5 shipping charged to the buyer, $5 buyer tax, $20 item cost, $5 actual shipping expense, and no boosted attribution.
- Seller revenue is $65.00 and gross order value is $70.00.
- Depop selling fee: 0% = $0.00.
- Depop Payments: 3.3% × $70.00 + $0.45 = $2.76.
- Estimated payout is $62.24 before seller operating costs.
After $20 item cost and $5 shipping expense, estimated profit is $37.24. If the sale were an attributed boost with seller-arranged shipping, the extra fee would be 12% × $65.00 = $7.80.
Important exceptions
- The 0% selling fee applies to eligible US listings created on or after July 15, 2024. Older listings can follow different rules.
- The 12% US Boosted Listings rate applies to new listings from March 23, 2026 and only when Depop attributes the sale to boosting.
- Boosted-fee shipping treatment depends on whether the seller arranges shipping or uses Depop Shipping.
- PayPal arrangements, sellers outside the US, refunds, disputes, and legacy listing conditions are not defaulted.
Assumptions used
- The seller is in the US and the listing qualifies for the current no-selling-fee plan.
- Depop Payments processes the transaction in USD.
- The boost checkbox is selected only for an attributed boosted sale.
- The buyer marketplace fee is excluded because it is not a seller deduction or seller revenue.
